And the winner is… (aka: someone will be a happy iPod shuffle owner soon!)

All good things come to an end… and so did my birthday (and Rainy London‘s!)

To all of you who felt a rush of creativeness and sent me a cool entry, thanks! You made my day 🙂

Honestly, some were so good it has been hard to decide! This is why my decision is based on several factors:

a) you are not winning if… I already gave you a Rainy London’s gift for Xmas!

b) you are winning if the sentence is not too soppy 🙂

c) you are not winning only because you added videos/pictures (even though I loved them!)

d) so, last but not least, basically you are winning if your entry made me laugh and it shows you like how R.L. is..

A mention to Laura Miccoli, for her creative Rainy Espresso Cup!

Another mention to Leonardo Maccaferro, who I know is busy with a new addition to the family and found the time to join the comp!

Thanks to those of you who joined on Twitter and shared with me funny ideas on puddles, wellies, being in the rain and then get warm again or rainbow and sunny days!

I know many more took part and – I hope – had fun but I am now glad to announce that with the wittiest and funniest entry of all (at least for me), the winner is…

Matt Young, who wrote:

Rainy london is…  unnecessarily pessimistic about the British weather!

This encapsulates the idea of Rainy London’s name, too, and also – let’s be honest! – also the real, all-British weather-related issue!

Plus Matt is a Japanese translator, and I ❤ Japanese – currently learning it, but it will probably take many (more) years before I can speak decently…

Anyway, thanks Matt!

And thank YOU all for joining this comp.

Alla prossima,

Happy b-day, Rainy London! Part 2: DOWNLOAD THE WALLPAPER!

Just a quick note to say HAPPY B-DAY RAINY LONDON!

Two years old today, the website will undergo some changes soon. It’s all in the pipeline, but cannot give you a date yet…

Among the new additions: Italian and Spanish versions, a section on Italian courses and much more!

Stay tuned… and in the meantime, download this cute wallpaper by Artscode.

Happy b-day, Rainy London! JOIN THE COMPETITION

LIKE US and SHARE A MESSAGE ON Rainy London = you may be the ONLY 1 LUCKY FAN who gets a SUPER COOL, ‘Rainy London loves you’ ENGRAVED iPod shuffle!

It’s only ONE, so do your best!

The 9th of February is Rainy London’s B-day!

Actually, it’s our website that is turning 2… time does fly!

And as Val’s gone crazy once and for all, she decided to celebrate in style!

All you have to do is show us some serious **love** and follow these INSTRUCTIONS carefully:

1) LIKE Rainy London Translations on Facebook or FOLLOW Rainy London Translations on Twitter (one of the two ways would do, it doesn’t have to be both. Although, the more the merrier!)

2) Tap on the creativity hidden in you: POST or TWEET something nice and catchy that best represents Rainy London. Try to be funny, impress me!

–>> Follow this FORMAT: Rainy London is… + YOUR IDEA HERE. Pics are allowed, too!

E.g.: Rainy London is… awesome as the last Lindor in the box that you honestly didn’t expect was there 🙂

When posting, don’t forget to type @Rainy London Translations until it gets underlined  or if on Twitter, make sure you tweet using @rainylondon in your post. Make sure it’s a proper mention, or the message WON’T BE valid!

 3) You have time from today THURSDAY 3rd FEB until SUNDAY 20th February, at 12:00 noon GMT 0.

MONDAY 21st – Val’s real b-day, and she’s much older that R.L.’s website…! – the coolest phrase will be selected and the lucky one will get the iPod into the mailbox (Royal Mail permitting)!

4) Share this with you friends: word-of-mouth and RTs are welcomed but remember, only ONLY ONE iPod so make sure you post YOUR own entry.

Looking forward to reading your ideas… Unleash your creativity 🙂

SMALL PRINTS: The iPod will REMAIN unassigned, i.e. at Rainy London’s HQ, if I don’t get AT LEAST 50 creative sentences to choose from… so make sure you join or nobody will win!
