I was browsing around today and found this link (in Italian)

Apparently the EU Commission is ready to offer paid translation internships. Yay!
I was happy to see that the much-dreaded we-won’t-pay-you-any-money work experience trend seems to be ignored at least by (some) big institutions. Don’t think I am not a fan of learning the ropes the hard way, with bucketload efforts and living on nothing (we all did it this way…). On the other hand, I was wondering… how is an intern supposed to live off approximately €900 (just a bit more than £750) in a city like Brussels or Strasbourg (not exactly the cheapest around)?
Still, loads of the skilled and talented out there are working full-time for exactly the same amount – and they don’t get the all the prestige of being part of such a big framework.
Interns of the world, put your back into it! Certainly it must be a truly fantastic experience.
